CuZinBruce 2025

PTM Review

We started the year with a quick spin on the Beaver Valley Traction snowsweeper

In January the family visited and we spent time at the Museum and
in the Snow...

John Wilkins visited recently.  Here's a legacy photo of his visit with Anne in 1977 when I was working on the horse car during my self imposed sabbatical.

We set up my mortiser so that Laura could assemble window frames for Red Arrow 73.
Ralph and Art Rizzino put together the new air brake apparatus repair room in the former Executive Director/Business Manager office.
I started on new wood for window sills in car 78.  The car hasn't been back to the shop since.
Kevin, Art R. worked to repair the lift cylinder for the xPAT bucket truck.

Here's a throwback picture of the old days and truck maintenance with John Bagiensky administering to the maladies on one of the New Orleans car trucks with Charlie Nixon and

Ed...(EHL) looking on

The next several photos show the masking of the interior of the Terrible Trolley in preparation for the painting of the ceiling of the car

Our old friend Phil has evidently sold his business to a company out of Coraopolis and Rich is the new traveling rep.  I spoke to him when he dropped by for a customer call

What follows are a couple photos with Artie and Art R reviewing the interior paint job on 1713 (The Terrible Trolley)

For Christmas Laura and Beau bought and assembled this new desk to replace the folding table where I had been working on these reports.

This is Beau and I showing off the new desk flanked by the new Epson Eco-tank printer that I recently bought to replace the overly proprietary HP that I recently ditched.

Michael pulled the TT out of the shop for dusting.

Out on North Main Street the water company has been chasing leaks/blowouts in the lines

After lots of teething pains Kevin and his crew have started to workout control issues suffered with Pittsburgh Railways 1138.

February 8 the visit to Barrel of Crack resulted in a key shaped table for 14 right inside the door.

I've been working to extract a cutting list for fabrication of the new shelter for County Home stop

February 24 a gang of our hearty volunteers and the trucking company loaded Red Arrow 83 onto a rollback truck for the trip to Arden.  Two Philadelphia PCCs also made the trip and are being stored for possible use for a project in Washington DC.  The other car is parts for our 2711 and 2723.

February 25 the cars arrived at the Museum and ware unloaded into the Founders Car House.  The PCC cars are being stored behind the building on track 11.

Backing in and lining up is a much simpler task than it was in the BAD old days...

When unloading wrapped up the mandatory side by side shot of our new arrival and our favorite #78 that arrived in 1982.

As part of the car moves one of the rollbacks was used to move SEPTA 2723 to storage at the Reliance building to make room for 83 @ the APB.

After the photo session with car 78, our new arrival was towed using our first Red Arrow arrival (1970) car 66.  It was parked inside the APB and later pressure washed. Stay tuned...

Meanwhile in the shop lettering was being applied to honor David H. Hamley or Dave as we knew him.  Meanwhile the whole gang headed up to Rockhill for this year's Winterfest...

Laura booked a snazzy old house Airbnb for our accommodations

On the way home from Rockhill we visited Satillo and the location for the station location for the current targeted end of the line heading south from Rockhill Furnace,

October-December 2025 Photo Report

I am putting together photos and commentary showing happenings at PTM.  The photos upload slowly while the commentary is even slower.  Check...
