October-December 2025 Photo Report

I am putting together photos and commentary showing happenings at PTM.  The photos upload slowly while the commentary is even slower.  Check back here to see more recent photos and read what I have created in the way of captions.

Starting out lets look at November 24 when I happened by to find that the contractor had started assembling structures for the pavilion.  This construction is taking place to the west of the Welcome and Education Center adjacent to the restroom building that was placed around the end of summer.

Let’s look at Philadelphia Suburban 73 and the effort there by Michael.  I snapped this photo a little early for him to pose next to the really swell new side sill that he fabricated on the #1 end right side center door.  As we go back through the year you’ll see this effort go back in time to September or so when he initiated the work.

November 21, Jack D, Kevin and Michael hung up the long awaited signs on the PTM Elevated platform.  I had suggested that the Johnstown car stop sign be removed from where I put it in the shop shortly after it was closed up in 1977.  They said that was already on the docket for the effort. I stole this photo from Jack’s FB page.

So, on the 20th on my regular drive through I found that BVT 1 was parked at the interurban boarding platform.  It was out of the TDB to allow the deck chairs on the Titanic to be rearranged for Santa.

On the 18th, we went to the annual Fair Board dinner and sat in on the annual meeting that preceded it.  The meeting started at 6:15 and ran through 7:45…

Here’s a great photo of Mom and Baby that I received on the 17th.

Then there’s Addy’s sad day of the broken thumb, long story.

Michael found this among some papers I had in the old shop office.
So, I scanned it and sent the original to the Archives.

I had not previously visited the catering prep area at the W&EC,
don’t know if these views have ever been shared.

I checked into the Google reviews on November 16th and found this very nice review by Megan Z…Thanks Megan!!!

On the morning of the 16th I was awakened multiple alarm calls.

November 13 was the 60th anniversary of the day I rode my bike from our neighborhood near Kane Hospital to Arden to volunteer.  It was the day that Paul, my fellow senior citizen assistant, took the long forgotten and mis-stored remaining aisle flooring from 78 and replaced damaged flooring with carefully fitted repair patches.

November 11 we had a very pleasant visit, tour and meeting
with our friends from the Heinz History Museum

November 11 we had a very pleasant visit, tour and meeting with our friends
from the Heinz History Center.  We felt it only appropriate that they get to ride on and operate 1711.

While we were entertain our friends from the History Center, Cindy was uncovering some interesting Washington County history.

Which I think including an ad for what became “Reds Beach” on Route 481.

Ralph is tackling heavy side sill repairs on 1799.

I believe this is a Teeny Harris photo, more on this to follow

This is a photo from Steve at IRM
